Got fall leaves? Tualatin's free Yard Debris Day is November 21.
The City of Tualatin's free Yard Debris Day returns Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 9 AM to 1 PM at Grimm's Fuel Co. on SW Cipole Rd, giving Tualatin residents a no-cost place to drop leaves, branches, and clippings before winter sets in.
By late October, Tualatin's maples have done what maples do, and most yards are holding a season's worth of leaves. The city's free drop-off day is the easy answer: no curbside pile-up, no hauling bags to the transfer station, just show up with your debris. Past years' events asked for proof of Tualatin residency, so bring a driver's license or recent utility bill along just in case.
Details below come from the City of Tualatin's event page; hours and rules can shift with weather, so it is worth a quick check of the city's website before you load the truck. The full community calendar lives on our local events page.
The essentials
What to know before you go.
When and where
Saturday, November 21, 2026, 9 AM to 1 PM
The drop-off runs at Grimm's Fuel Co., 18850 SW Cipole Rd in Tualatin. The event is free and sponsored by the City of Tualatin in cooperation with Republic Services, Willamette Resources, Metro, and Grimm's Fuel. It is a fall ritual for neighborhood crews, so expect a steady line, and arrive early if you want the shortest wait.
What is accepted
Leaves, weeds, clippings, branches, prunings
The city accepts leaves, weeds, grass clippings, branches, and prunings, with branches limited to no more than 4 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length. Bag, bundle, or load loose debris, and keep the load free of rocks, soil, and trash. If your pile is bigger than a pickup can hold, a couple of trips is the right call.
Different event, different drop
Bulky waste does not belong here
Tualatin also runs a separate Bulky Waste Day at Republic Services off SW Ridder Rd in Wilsonville for furniture, appliances, and the like. Yard debris should not be brought to that event, and bulky items should not be brought to this one. Matching the right drop to the right day keeps both free events running smoothly.
A reason to gather the neighborhood
Optional donations, community spirit
Past years' events have collected optional donations for the Tualatin Food Pantry, so consider tossing a few items in the donation bin while you are there. It is a small way a chores day turns into a community day. For other ways to give back this season, see our holiday giving guide.
Before the drop
Getting the yard winter-ready in the next few weeks.
Late October through mid-November is the sweet spot for fall yard cleanup. Keep raking as the trees finish dropping, do a final mow shorter than the summer cut, and pull the last of the annuals. Mulched beds hold up better through winter rains, so a thin layer over perennials pays off in spring.
First frost timing matters for what is left to harvest and protect. Average first frost windows for Tualatin range from around late October to late November depending on the source, and our first frost guide has a step-by-step prep checklist. While the yard work is underway, it is also the right time to walk the exterior of the house, and our fall home maintenance checklist covers gutters, roof, and drains before the rainy season arrives.
And if the cleanup turns into a neighborhood event, even better. Tualatin's civic calendar this month also includes the library book sale and tree planting work parties in our November guide. Mark the 21st on the calendar, and enjoy the cleanest yard on the block.
Make Your Move
A home built for the season.
A move to 22379 SW 107th Ave means a yard, a garden, and a neighborhood that makes fall chores easier: a 2025 roof, high-efficiency dual-zone HVAC installed in 2026, and a solar system that trims the bills. Paul Knighton of MORE Realty can show you around, rake not required.
