A paved riverside trail along the Tualatin River on a golden autumn afternoon, with a wooden footbridge in the distance

The Tualatin River Greenway keeps getting better.

A voter-approved parks bond is reshaping Tualatin's riverfront. Newly completed Greenway Trail sections, a planned riverfront park with direct water access, and upgraded playgrounds all lie within minutes of 22379 SW 107th Ave.

Tualatin is a city that treats its river as a front yard. In November 2022, voters approved a $25 million Parks and Trails Bond, and the results have been arriving ever since: new trail connections along the Tualatin River, a riverfront park now moving through design, and playground replacements at neighborhood parks across town.

For anyone weighing a move to the area, this is the kind of investment that shows up in everyday life: a morning jog along the water, a bike ride to school along a protected path, and a growing web of green space connecting one neighborhood to the next.

Trail Completed July 2024

A new link under the highway.

The newest section of the Tualatin River Greenway Trail opened in July 2024: a 12-foot-wide, half-mile concrete path that carries walkers and cyclists from the River Ridge area under Highway 99W to Hazelbrook Road at Hazelbrook Middle School. The city held a ribbon-cutting to mark the connection, which closes a long-standing gap in the Greenway network.

The result is a smoother commute path for students and families, and an easy way to build loops along the river without ever riding on a busy road.

A riverfront park with real river access.

In October 2024, with support from Metro, the city purchased a 2.8-acre riverfront property with about 425 feet of Tualatin River frontage, located between Tualatin Community Park and SW Boones Ferry Road. The purchase closed one of the last remaining gaps in the city's Greenway section and secured a future put-in for paddlers.

From there, a larger vision is taking shape: a roughly six-acre riverfront park with direct river access and accessibility-forward design. Site preparation, including clearing invasive species and removing three floodplain houses, began in late 2025. The park is not open yet, but it is moving steadily from paper toward a real, swimmable, launchable, wanderable stretch of Tualatin riverbank.

Bond-Funded Playgrounds

Neighborhood parks refreshed.

Ibach Park

Ibach Park, a short walk from 22379 SW 107th Ave, received brand-new play structures for all ages, including an inclusive "We-Saw" and a "Boppity Bridge" rope bridge. It pairs beautifully with the park's pond, trails, and sports fields.

Jurgens Park

Jurgens Park's playground was rebuilt with a forest-themed design in 2024, complete with timber-inspired structures that fit the park's wooded character. A favorite stop for families on the west side of town.

Atfalati Park

Atfalati Park received upgraded play equipment in fall 2023, part of the same bond program, giving another corner of Tualatin fresh, modern structures for kids of all abilities.

Where the Greenway leads.

The Greenway connects to the rest of Tualatin's outdoor life. Continue east toward the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, where fall brings migrating waterfowl and bald eagles. Put a kayak on the water and follow our paddling guide to the calm stretches east of town. And for the full picture of trails, parks, and greenways, start with the parks and greenways roundup.

From the property at 22379 SW 107th Ave, Ibach Park is a short stroll away. That proximity to river, trail, and park is a big part of why this neighborhood is one of Tualatin's favorite places to live.
