Holiday Dining / October 14, 2026

Thanksgiving, minus the kitchen marathon.

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026, and local pre-orders are opening now: New Seasons Market in Tualatin started accepting holiday orders on October 13, with Zupan's, area bakeries, and caterers close behind. Here is where to lock in turkey, pies, and full feasts near 22379 SW 107th Ave.

Mid-October is the moment Thanksgiving planning quietly begins, and for good reason: the best local holiday pre-orders fill up, and several stores close their ordering windows the weekend before the big day. If you would rather spend Thanksgiving morning on a walk or with family than elbow-deep in a turkey, ordering ahead from a nearby grocer, bakery, or caterer is the way to go.

Menus, pricing, and order dates are published by each business during October, so the details below are the lineup to start with, with notes on what to confirm before you order. For the full holiday calendar, including Turkey Trot races and where to dine out, the Thanksgiving guide has the complete picture.

New Seasons Market: orders open now.

The closest full holiday pre-order program is New Seasons Market at 7703 SW Nyberg St, and its 2026 reservations opened October 13. You can reserve whole and brined turkeys from Diestel, ready-to-reheat turkey dinners sized for four or for one, larger party packages, gluten-free options, and side and pie bundles. Ordering typically closes around 10 PM the Sunday before Thanksgiving, with pickups on the days before and after the holiday, since the store is closed on Thanksgiving Day itself.

Recent-season pricing has run from about $5.99 a pound for Diestel turkeys to roughly $129.99 for a dinner for four and about $18.99 for a single-serve plate. The current 2026 menu and pickup times are live on the New Seasons catering site, so it is worth placing your order early in the season.
