Two Helvetia tree farms worth the drive from Tualatin.
Furrow Farm opens Friday, November 27 and Plumper Farms opens the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 21, both in the Helvetia countryside about half an hour from Tualatin. Add them to Lee Farms for a full 2026 choose-and-cut lineup.
Tualatin is one of the few Portland suburbs with a choose-and-cut farm right in town: Lee Farms on SW 65th Ave opens its tree lot each year around Thanksgiving weekend. A little farther out, the Helvetia countryside northwest of Portland, roughly 25 to 30 minutes from 22379 SW 107th Ave, holds two more long-running family farms, Furrow Farm and Plumper Farms, that make a worthwhile day of it.
Hours and dates below come from each farm's own website and listings; tree farms shift with weather and the season, so confirm before you head out. Our earlier 2026 Christmas tree guide covers the in-town options at Lee Farms and Century Farm plus Yager, Christensen, and Pollard Ranch nearby.

Making a day of the countryside.
Because both farms sit within a short drive of each other, many families plan a combined trip: Plumper opens a week earlier on Saturday, November 21, and Furrow follows on Black Friday, November 27, so between them there is a tree option almost every weekend until mid-December. If December weather turns wet, Lee Farms in Tualatin remains the convenient in-town fallback.
A few tips from years of farm trips: bring cash or a card the farm accepts, wear boots, and bring twine and a tarp in the car for the ride home. Measure your ceiling height before you cut, and know that a fir cut in the first week of December will hold its needles beautifully through the holidays with water in the stand from day one.
